How to use Google Bard AI and what can you do with it?

Bard flies to India

At Google I/O 2023, the tech giant announced the launch of its AI, Google Bard, in 180 countries including India.

What is Bard?

Bard is an AI-powered language assistant developed by Google. It is designed to improve search results and language accessibility for Indian language users. Bard uses machine learning to understand the context of search queries and provide more accurate results, especially for complex Indian language scripts.

How to use Bard?

To use Bard, you can follow these simple steps: 1. Go to Google search on your device. 2. Click on the "Settings" button on the bottom right corner of the screen. 3. Select "Languages" and choose one of the supported Indian languages from the list. 4. Type in your search query in the selected language and press enter. 5. Bard will use machine learning to understand the context of your query and provide more accurate search results.

Try Bard

Once you're there, you will be told that Bard is still being tested. Click the option 'Try Bard' and agree to terms and conditions to get started.

Is Bard accurate?

'Bard is experimental, and some of the responses may be inaccurate, so double-check information in Bard’s responses. With your feedback, Bard is getting better every day,' Google says.

Languages

Bard is currently available in nine Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, and Punjabi. These languages represent a significant portion of India's population and are widely spoken and written across the country. By providing support for these languages, Bard helps to improve language accessibility and inclusion for millions of Indian language users who prefer to search for information, find local businesses, and get answers to their questions in their preferred language.

Bold and responsible

Google's would be carried out in a 'bold and responsible' way, senior product director Jack Krawczyk said during a briefing.

Racing with ChatGPT

Google is racing to catch up with rival Microsoft, which has rushed to integrate ChatGPT-like powers in a wide array of its products, including the Bing search engine.
