How to: Install Docker and Docker-Compose

To install Docker in any Ubuntu or Debian OS, follow just one command

curl https://get.docker.com/ > dockerinstall && chmod 777 dockerinstall && ./dockerinstall

It will install the latest version of docker in your system, you can check Docker version by the following command

docker -v

To install Docker-compose, follow these commands

sudo curl -L "https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/1.25.0/docker-compose-$(uname -s)-$(uname -m)" -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
sudo ln -s /usr/local/bin/docker-compose /usr/bin/docker-compose

You can check Docker-compose version by following command

docker-compose --version
